“While on the beltway, out of the blue, my car accelerated by itself (the accelerator left my foot & the cruise control was not activated at the time), and the brakes did not want to operate to slow the car down---very frightening!”
NHTSA complaint #702904, filed 1999-02“Consumer stated that while pulling into a parking space the car just accelerated fast, jumped the curb and hit a pole. Consumer also stated that they tried hitting the brakes and they wouldn't work. Car had to be towed to a mechanic. Comsu *akmer contacted the dealer and they are aware of the incident.”
