“The driver's side airbag deployed while driving about five miles per hour in downtown philadelphia. No impact happened, no pothole was hit. The Honda place where I lease the car is blaming it on a 4 inch square piece of asphalt stuck somewhere under the car. That did not happen when the airbag depolyed. My insurance company has filed a claim and will examine the car.”

NHTSA complaint #10321746, filed 2010-03, 6,000 miles

“I was driving my car in wet conditions when my car skidded onto a curb. My explosives went off in my airbags, however, my air bags failed to deploy. Currently my air bag light is on.”

NHTSA complaint #11045348, filed 2017-11, 85,000 miles

“Takata inflators. The airbag light came on. I took my car to the dealer to be checked out and they informed me that the issue appears to be be the front driver's side airbag.”

NHTSA complaint #10949535, filed 2017-02, 103,000 miles

“Takata recall. I was involved in an accident 1/10/17. My car was hit head on with a truck, 2001 gmc. The car was totaled and the report noted that the airbag never deployed.”

NHTSA complaint #10946845, filed 2017-01, 89,000 miles

“Takata recall: received conflicting messages from NHTSA and Honda. According to the NHTSA, there is a serious recall for my Civic, part is available for fixing and vehicle should not be driven until fixed. I called Honda, and they say okay to drive except no passenger in front seat and part will not be available until late summer/early fall. I need to know what to do at this point. Finally, Honda has never even contacted me about the recall. I called them when I read your article. Please advise about this.”
