“Yesterday the check airbag system light was illuminated on my 2014 Honda. After having a mechanic check the error code, he confirmed there is an issue with my airbag inflator. My vehicle has approximately 75,000 miles and is driven approximately once a week. The issue occurred when I turned my vehicle on and started driving.”

NHTSA complaint #11389537, filed 2021-01, 75,000 miles

“I have started to get a check air bag system warning light on my dashboard. It doesn't happen when I start the car, but occurs at some point while driving. The diagnosis is a bad steering wheel position sensor. The car has never been in an accident; there's no problem with the rack and pinion; and the air bag has never deployed.”

NHTSA complaint #11184794, filed 2019-03, 46,000 miles

“The display on my '14 Civic showed check air bag system . I took it to the dealer, they cleared the code to see if it came back. It did about 8-days later. I took it back in and they replaced the cable reel in the steering column. Problem solved, warning message went away. 3 months later, check air bag system light comes back on. Carrying it to the dealer today(12/09/19) for inspection.”

NHTSA complaint #11287947, filed 2019-12, 83,000 miles

“I was hit by a car turning left and my airbags did not deploy. The cars screen had an alert on it with the words airbag failed . My VIN is not in the recall however I am concerned. The aribags failed and I'm lucky that I was ok. The car is deemed a total loss due to the airbags failing.”

NHTSA complaint #11203383, filed 2019-04, 58,000 miles

“I was in an accident in on a highway on-ramp in which I rear ended a large passenger van at 35+ MPH while the other vehicle was stopped. My airbags did not deploy, but the car seems to think they did because I have an airbag notification to check airbag that will not go away”
