“When traveling with the cruise control engaged, the vehicle will suddenly begin braking with no vehicles or objects in front of the vehicle. It’s occurred multiple occasions and some episodes are a quick braking where it then suddenly accelerates back up to the set speed, and during other episodes I quickly hit the accelerator as I wasn’t sure if it was going to recover itself and I did not want to get rear ended.”
NHTSA complaint #11486829, filed 2022-09“I started driving at 8am in warm weather and drove 5 minutes or so when I entered the highway and when I started acceleration it stopped increasing beyond 40 miles and the speed started reducing while engine light came on and started flashing, I slowly exited the highway right away, entered a parking lot and shut the car off. I restarted after a few minutes and started driving again and it drove like nothing happened. No warning messages or notifications were on and no engine light came on.”
NHTSA complaint #11762282, filed 2026-09“I got car accident on 12/22/23 due to brake failure. I was at Stop Sign - zero mph (at Parking Lot near shopping mall in Concord, CA), suddenly my car unexpectedly revved and lurched forward. It then jumped the parking curb. I had to control on steering wheel to the left because the right side was Chinese Restaurant. I tried to brake and press on P . They did not work. My car hit one of the car that parked there. Then the car was stopped. The airbag was deployed. …”
NHTSA complaint #11563858, filed 2024-01“It happened twice so far, while driving on the Highway, suddenly the car would no longer respond to the accelerator pedal and the car started losing speed meanwhile the warning lights flashes on the dashboard., In a panic we had to cruise to park on the highways shoulder. shut the car off thinking the car may have overheated or something, then restarted the engine and the dashboard was very normal, we proceeded to drive cautiously to mechanic, the mechanic found no error code to lead him to any diagnoses. The car drives normally after each incident. …”
NHTSA complaint #11648470, filed 2025-03“I was on the highway going approximately 65mph for 10 minutes when my engine light turned on and began blinking. Immediately when it turned on I lost the ability to accelerate and had to go across 3 lanes of extremely busy and fast traffic to pull over onto the shoulder. Once I was on the shoulder, I shut my car off for 2 minutes and restarted it and the car worked as normal again. The initial incident occurred on October 4th, 2024, and it has happened again on November 29th, 2024. I do have an image of the engine light on that was taken on October 4th if that would be helpful at all. …”
