“There are three NHTSA recalls for 2002 Honda crv - 12v486000, 20v76800 and 03v422000. Honda says my VIN is not included in these recalls, but I having all these issues. I've called Honda and spoken to a csr, and I'm at the dealers right now. They won't honor these recalls, and are charging me for diagnostics.”
NHTSA complaint #11416295, filed 2021-05, 192,000 miles“I was operating the vehicle as normal. Parked in a parking spot waiting for my partner with the vehicle turned off. While leaving I turned the vehicle on and when I went to roll down the right rear window using the drivers pwms the window would not move and the switch began to smoke. I cut the power and removed the fuses for the power window circuit to prevent further damage. Did not take any photos of the smoke. There is a recall for the pwms catching fire in 2002-2006 Honda cr-vs, when I contacted the local dealership about the problem they refused warranty service.”
NHTSA complaint #11415196, filed 2021-05, 194,000 miles“I responded to a recall notice for the airbag inflator. I had noticed, immediately thereafter, that my horn and cruise control is inoperable. I contacted service advisor who asked to bring the car back in. She agreed that the mechanism for these inoperable parts is in close proximity to the air bag inspection areas , for the recall. However, they claim they ... Are not liable for the cable reel and will charge to have it fixed. …”
NHTSA complaint #10482128, filed 2012-10, 191,103 miles“The low beams stopped working while driving and the plastic wire harness connector that plugs into the headlight switch started smoking and burned up. The headlight switch I can get through Honda but I can't find the plastic wiring harness connector. It is not safe when your low beams both go out when driving cause the wire for the low beams burns up in the connector for no reason. Updated 11/25/11 updated 11/30/11”
NHTSA complaint #10432827, filed 2011-10, 123,000 miles“I just discovered that this vehicle had a recall for the master switch. I deliver mail with this vehicle. As I was driving from one mailbox to another the smell of something melting was overwhelming. The window on the passenger side was not rolling up anymore and I then realized something had gone wrong. As I never owned this vehicle during this recall I never received a notice. I ended up discovering what was wrong myself and replacing the switch. This vehicle no longer had a warranty.”
