Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Driving in the early morning while it was still dark outside, I was following another car about 5 car lengths back and the automatic high beams came on. The person in the car ahead became annoyed and slammed on his brakes and proceeded to drive 5 MPH until I tuned off the road. I turned off the car and headlights to reset the system. The automatic high beam system is supposed to recognize a car in front of you or oncoming headlights and automatically turn off the high beams. I brought the car to advantage Honda in manhasset, ny. They said they checked the system and it's working properly”

NHTSA complaint #11299094, filed 2020-01, 4,700 miles

“Purchased 4 weeks ago & while driving in the rain moisture intrudes into driver side headlight causing severe fogging which reduces visibility at night. The headlight doesn't carry sufficient illumination thru the fogging to safely see forward coming traffic or road obstructions. Dealer said it was normal & did nothing.”

NHTSA complaint #11192340, filed 2019-03, 450 miles

“The turn signals rapidly flicker on & off when the CRV is parked, engine off and continued off for hours. The turn signals flicker intermittently all night every night. I informed American Honda and Headquarter Honda in Clermont, FL the symptoms exactly mirrored the symptoms of a known questionable Body Control Module that is used throughout their product line up and involved in a huge existing recall. I have a video I would like to share of the flickering lights.”

NHTSA complaint #11600855, filed 2024-07

“I am writing a complaint for 2019 Honda CR-V. While I am aware of the fuel pump recall for this model, what is not recalled and needs to be are the multiple dashboard lights that turn on and remain lit that many owners of this model and several years earlier have not been able to find solutions for. The lights turn on regardless of having a new battery. 2017-2019 Honda CRV owners have not been able to get a clear answer from dealers, and only have been told by Honda to go to a dealer who is not able to give a solution. …”

NHTSA complaint #11643178, filed 2025-02

“Having done some research I discovered that my problem seems to be happening to a number of CRV owners. My signal lights are flickering while the car is turned off. I discovered that Honda had done a recall to fix this problem on several other models but not the CRV. From what I can determine is that this is a problem with the Body Control Module. I feel that there seems to be a lot of CRV with the same problem and maybe your Organization might want to look into this.
