“Vehicle was backed into garage to towel dry after washing. Vehicle was placed in park, turned engine off and I exited the vehicle. After collecting drying towels I proceeded to lock vehicle (confirmed by beep) and started to enter my home when I noticed vehicle beginning to roll out of my garage. I could not catch it before it rolled down my drive and across my street into a tree damaging front end of vehicle. When I reached vehicle and unlocked it to enter it was still in park. I then started vehicle and backed it up (dragging front bumper) into my garage.”
NHTSA complaint #11187500, filed 2019-03, 1,337 miles“This is a reproducible software glitch that can be consistently triggered by bringing the car to a stop on a slippery surface, and then flooring the gas pedal to spin the wheels with the transmission in 'd'. After the wheels have spun, the transmission shifts erratically while driving until the car is restarted”
NHTSA complaint #11396099, filed 2021-02, 6,000 miles“At approximately 33,188 miles, an “AWD System Problem” warning appeared on the instrument cluster of my 2019 Honda CR‑V AWD. Darrell Waltrip Honda in Nashville, TN scanned the vehicle and retrieved DTC C1851‑1E, which indicates a rear differential pump motor high‑current fault. The dealer misinterpreted this code and advised that the AWD control unit (Part No. 48310‑5TG‑H52) needed replacement, but stated the vehicle was safe to drive so repairs could be completed at my home dealership in Lexington, KY. …”
NHTSA complaint #11702680, filed 2025-12“While driving the car at highway speed the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power to all essential functions. The engine shutdown and there was no steering and loss of some of the brake functions. Multiple warnings started showing ( too many to list here ). The car came to a stop partially in the highway and we experienced several near misses by passing vehicles before we could get enough assistance to push the vehicle out of the roadway. Since this incident a simple search has shown that this is a very common problem with this vehicle. …”
NHTSA complaint #11564476, filed 2024-01“I have a 2019 Honda CRV, purchased new on Guam from Triple J Honda (Tamuning) on Jan 2020. As of May 2023, my car has about 32,000 miles but my car began having trouble starting [engine made sputtering(?) noises when turning the key] that morning. Then, while driving in traffic, the car had STALLED/STOPPED WORKING in the middle of rush hour (around 9AM) traffic!!! THANK the LORD, though, the traffic light had just turned red so all the other drivers were slowing down around me! I tried over & over again, but the car wouldn't start! …”
