“While driving my 2022 Honda CRV at highway speeds and at operating temperature, the steering sticks and/or pauses then releases causing the steering to jerk back in the opposite direction. This creates a major safety issue while driving on the highway and can potentially cause an accident. Additionally, when turning the vehicle left at slow speeds, we would periodically hear a clicking noise. These problems began at the beginning of 2024 and have progressively gotten worse. …”
NHTSA complaint #11741953, filed 2026-06“When I tried to reverse the car the car went forward. I put the car in park and tried to reverse again the car went forward again, I tried one more time and the car went forward while in reverse. I shut the car off and gave it a few minutes, I turned it back on and tried one more time and the car finally reversed. R was indicated on the dashboard and the reverse camera was on while the car was driving forward.”
NHTSA complaint #11487352, filed 2022-09“Honda 2022 CR-V - Rear Differential (RD) locking up, jerking, slipping, not moving smoothly. When backing up and turning the RD has been jerking and slipping for more than 2 years. I had the vehicle in the shop 2+ years ago and explained the problem and they claimed they could not find a problem and gave the car back to me. Now it's back in the shop again as the problem is worse. The powertrain is still under warranty so I assumed they would cover it, however they said it's my fault so they won't cover it. Honda dealer wants $4000 to fix. …”
NHTSA complaint #11739889, filed 2026-05“On or about April 17, 2026, while driving my 2022 Honda CR-V equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine (approximately 53,890 miles), I experienced a sudden loss of engine power and performance. There were no warning lights, warning messages, or other symptoms prior to the incident. The first indication of a problem occurred during the failure itself. Diagnostic testing later identified DTC P0299 (turbocharger underboost). The vehicle was transported to an authorized Honda dealership (Stokes Honda North), where technicians diagnosed a catastrophic turbocharger failure. …”
NHTSA complaint #11751223, filed 2026-07“I purchased a new Honda CR-V EXL AWD in Jan 2022 and it has only 1971 miles. Now, the transmission is completely dead with these miles. The dealership informed me that this requires a new transmission which is covered under Honda warranty. The strange thing is that I didn't receive any warning or notification in my dashboard that transmission is getting bad/worse. Luckily, the car was stopped on a residential county road but I can't imagine if the power is getting dropped and stopped on the freeway without any warning. …”
