“I have a rumbling, grinding noise that is due to excessive and premature wear on the rear differential of my 2000 Honda crv awd. I have changed the fluid, but it seems that this is a common problem that should not be occurring in so many owners.”
NHTSA complaint #10386053, filed 2011-03, 112,000 miles“While driving automatic transmission lower gear doesn't shift properly from the first to the second gear. Then, won?t shift at all. The shift lever would not down shift into low speeds while driving down steep hills. The dealer worked on the steering column and now the lever works better but it's not as smooth as the consumer's 2004 Honda accord.”
NHTSA complaint #10087064, filed 2004-08, 32,300 miles“When purchased new in 2000 the ride was loose and jittery and the car could not be driven safely over 60 MPH. Between 40 and 45 the front end bounced uncontrollably. The dealer drove the car (would not allow me to accompany) and declared that's normal for this model...that's just the way SUV's ride. After 80,000 miles at speeds below 60 the transmission self-destructed. After replacing the transmission the ride is excellent.”
NHTSA complaint #10183100, filed 2007-02, 86,036 miles“I have multiple issues with vehicle: 1) engine stalls while driving, which interrupts power steering. This occurs generally within the first mile of driving, now daily. Initially, problem occurred at random, once or twice per month. Regular service checks revealed no problem. The car runs without problems all day once the initial stalling of the engine has occurred. Consumer information has found this to be an ignition switch problem, but Honda-authorized service dealer refused to acknowledge any recall or problem on this model on 1/17/2004. …”
NHTSA complaint #10056320, filed 2004-02, 33,000 miles“My Honda CR-V will go backwards when it's on parking position. And also I can shut off the engine and take off the car key even when it's on drive position. I think those two problems occur since I bought it.”
