“The steering wheel in my 2019 Honda Passport made unwanted movement or motion when parked or stopped. I was able to capture the problem with the steering wheel on a video clip and presented to the dealer as an evidence. On the first visit I was notified there was not any problem and recommended to perform a four wheel alignments. On the second visit the technician discovered the problem and escalated to Honda. Honda stated that they have seen this problem with the steering wheel and it was diagnosed to be related to a defect in the steering column. …”

NHTSA complaint #11319541, filed 2020-03, 6,500 miles

“I was driving on the highway at 65mph. All of a sudden the vehicle started to slow down at a very fast rate cutting my speed in half. 2 errors appeared on the dashboard. Transmission problem, apply parking brake when parked. And blind spot info system problem. Luckily I was able to pull over just in the right time, but the vehicle was starting to get very hard to control while steering as this was all happening. The vehicle started to control me meaning j almost couldn't steer it where it needed to go and I could not accelerate at all on the highway. The vehicle kept slowing down. …”

NHTSA complaint #11244660, filed 2019-08, 5,583 miles

“I purchased this vehicle at the end of February 2026. Since the purchase this vehicle has on numerous occasions for no reason applied the brakes and made the steering wheel shake. This has almost caused an accident on several occasions, with today another instance on 5-23-2026. I would turn the system off but from what I understand it re-engages itself after every drive. I like the vehicle but im afraid that its going to cause an accident or someones death. Had I known that I couldn't permanently turn off this dangerous system i would have never bought it and bought a Lexus SUV instead. …”

NHTSA complaint #11739733, filed 2026-05

“What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The rear subframe, specifically the passenger-side rear suspension mounting bracket, is failing due to severe, premature corrosion. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety was put at extreme risk because a local authorized Honda dealership fraudulently closed out an active, critical safety recall (NHTSA Campaign Number 26V-365) without actually performing the mandated repair. …”
