“I’ve started to hear a clicking sound when taking left turns on my Honda prologue after about 600 miles. When researching online I found that the prologues ship with a bad cv axles and the sound won’t go away unless the axle is replaced. Reporting here so that I can get feedback on the severity of the issue and bring awareness.”
NHTSA complaint #11649871, filed 2025-03“When making a sharp left hand turn out of a parking lot I hear a loud clicking coming from, it seemed, the front right hand side. This clicking seemed to be at the tire rotation rate and ceased when I straightened out after the turn. I have heard a similar sound when the u joints in a prior car of mine were about to fail.”
NHTSA complaint #11636667, filed 2025-01“I have 9,500 miles on my car and within the last week every time I make a turn (either direction) there is a very loud clicking/grinding noise coming from the CV Axel. I’ve noticed it’s a common theme for Prologues & have been told it’s safe to drive but there are currently no remedies for this problem. It makes mes very nervous that it is going to turn into something worse soon.”
NHTSA complaint #11637472, filed 2025-01“During turns to the left, there is a noticeable clicking sound that I can hear inside the cabin. I have not heard the noise when turning right. Research I've done seems to indicate this may be a CV joint issue on the vehicle. I am going to take it in for service shortly, but since it appears to be common among other vehicles of the same type I decided to file a report for tracking.”
NHTSA complaint #11701193, filed 2025-11“Drove off the dealer lot with a brand new prologue with 31 miles on the odometer. Taking a left hand turn out of the dealer lot, I immediately hear a clicking/clunking noise coming from the front end. It’s my understanding that this is due to a CV joint in the drivetrain. Honda does not have a solution available.”
