“I bought this vehicle used approximately 7 years ago. I was taking my vehicle through an automated car wash and the hood vent came completely off. I noticed there was a recall in 2010 concerning this part but I never got notification. When I look up by my VIN, it states no recalls. Why not? I noticed it was loose at one lower corner and already had discussed fixing it with the body shop. I need the hood vent replaced now since it tore the latches loose from the top.”
NHTSA complaint #10706310, filed 2015-04, 68,000 miles“I keep getting a code that states that my truck runs with a low engine temperature. Plus my truck has had a leak from some where around the lower windshield that is causing electrical problems and soaking wet floors! We had a mechanic look for the leak and try to fix this issue but was unable to find the problem and we were also told by a few dealership that they have seen a lot of H3 hummers with the same problem! Also we are having issues that causes the traction signal to come on regularly and it causes my truck to lock up. It has almost caused us to wreck several times! …”
NHTSA complaint #10840152, filed 2016-03, 87,000 miles“The tubular frame had what looks like cold slugs welds at several joint locations that allowed water to enter and rust from the inside out. The frame can be pushed through with a finger. The frame springs broke while driving down the road dropping the fuel tank through the gas tank causing a fire hazard.”
NHTSA complaint #11307856, filed 2020-02, 197,000 miles“Plastic hood louver has become detached, several of the plastics clips attaching the louvers to the hood are broken. The louver flew off the vehicle while driving on a state highway going approximately 50 miles per hour.”
NHTSA complaint #11194063, filed 2019-04, 171,000 miles“Almost lost control of Hummer H3 due to chrome insert on engine hood reflecting sunlight into the drivers eyes at certain angles- GM must consider that placing chrome parts on the engine hood have reflective capabilities that interfere with safe operations of the vehicle.”
