“I was in a parking lot, I started the vehicle and turned the air conditioner on. It worked but suddenly stopped blowing air. I took it in and it was diagnosed as the blower motor resistor had gone out. I had it replaced only to have the same thing happen again one week later but this time I smelled something burning. The wiring had burned going to the resistor. The technician informed me that this happens often with these vehicles and he doesn't understand why there isn't a recall. …”
NHTSA complaint #10477479, filed 2012-09, 76,500 miles“This is the first winter this vehicle has seen. On three separate occasions the windshield wipers have either not worked or stopped midcycle. The first incident was at home. I have autostart so I started my card to warm the vehicle and thaw the windshield. Approx. Two hours later I was able to turn on my wipers. The same thing happened on a second occasion. On december 31,2008 during a storm that caused white out conditions, my wipers stopped less than 5 minutes into my drive home. …”
NHTSA complaint #10255061, filed 2009-01, 9,131 miles“I have a 2007 H3 Hummer with 81000 miles. This past summer I got into my truck and put on my air conditioning on high. Nothing came out of the vents. Blower motor wouldn't even move. I did some research on the topic and it all lead to a burnt out blower motor resister. I had purchased a new one and replaced it to find out that there was a small fire in the plug from it getting to hot. This is a common problem with the H3. I talked to GM safety and they won't do anything and bout it because it's out of warranty due to age and miles. There is no reason for this not to be a recall issue. …”
NHTSA complaint #10649201, filed 2014-10, 79,000 miles“I own a 2007 Hummer H3. Driving home in a snowstorm last night, the wipers stopped working. I called the dealer and had the car towed to the dealership. They tell me that since the area around the wiper blades is so large, this should be expected and that they had several other calls on the same issue. I was in a snow storm and could have been in a severe accident. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed. I bought the H3 to drive in the winter, however I do not feel that it is safe to drive in snow. Need help from GM on this one.”
NHTSA complaint #10182535, filed 2007-02, 6,700 miles“Wipers stop intermittently and do not return to park position. Wipers come on when starting vehicle and the switch must be turned on and off to manually stop them in the proper park position. This is a serious issue that has complaints all over the internet and has people questioning the viability of a class action suit.”
