“My husband and I purchased this car brand new, with only 252 miles on it. On the third day of owning it we were driving and within 5 miles the car began alarming with the center driver console indicating the engine was overheated. The temperature gauge was in the red zone. After a few seconds it dropped slightly and fluctuated in the upper 2/3s of the high temperature region. We drove to the dealership, which was within 10 miles. Once we were within half a mile the car engine began rattling every-time I tried to accelerate and the temperature gauge at this point remained in the redline. …”

“At times the engine will freeze up, stall the car while driving, or the car will altogether turn off when at a stop sign or light, while the car is still on. I've had the oil changed before the mileage indicated expired because the engine light came on and I was told the car had no oil at all when I know the oil was just changed within a 3 months time frame.”

NHTSA complaint #11766290, filed 2026-09

“While driving on the highway loss of power and all the light on the info area lit up had to pull over on shoulder and shut off car and restart. And on two separate occasion while on low speed local road brake pedal locked up and I could not stop the car using the brake it was like it was press down already and I was unable to stop.”

NHTSA complaint #11603309, filed 2024-07

“I took it to Hyundai Dealership in November 2025 and did the Service Campaign 9C2 and TSB 25-01-087H software update. Since that happened my engine is jumpy and I have taken it back to dealer and they can't find anything. Several people with this issue have been found since on several forums after having the update. One said the dealer knows about the issue and so does Hyundai, but when I ask they know nothing.”
