“The airbag light started coming on and off for a while until the light stayed on all the time. So, if I was to get in a car accident the airbags wouldnt work due to the sensor not working properly. Hyundai wouldn't fix it because its not a recall, yet it is a safety concern since it involves airbags. I am sure I am not the only one with this problem.”
NHTSA complaint #11384675, filed 2020-12, 180,500 miles“The top of the dashboard cracked about 18 inches. Our Hyundai service rep said it was caused by the airbags under the dashboard expanding from the heat. Hyundai should replace the dashboard, obviously made of faulty material. Our rep said it would cost us $1,000.00. I'm afraid that airbags will crack it completely in half and then the car would not be drivable.”
NHTSA complaint #11255711, filed 2019-09, 19,934 miles“While driving I performed a quick serve to avoid an accident when the driver side curtain airbag deployed resulting in hitting the median. The car was towed due to inopperable seatbelt and airbags obstructing view. There is already a recall out for this issue with model and year, but it shows that my car is not under the range of vehicles covered.”
NHTSA complaint #11063814, filed 2018-01, 85,000 miles“The vehicle has seat belt and airbag recalls and the manufacturer has refused to complete them on the car. They had the car in a dealership for 90 days and have not completed the recalls on the car. I would like them to move forward and complete the work on the car so that I can get it removed from the repairing dealership.”
NHTSA complaint #11208681, filed 2019-05, 109,178 miles“Yesterday at 2:10 pm I was in a vehicle accident. I was in motion on the highway and a jeep t-boned me. I had just turned onto the highway so I was o ly going about 20 MPH. The other vehicle was coming out of a parking lot at a high speed and smacked into me. My vehicle then began spinning out of control down the road. I then came to a stop parallel to a few feet from a building. None of my airbags deployed.”
