“I had to replace the cv joint on one side of the car and then months later the other side. I was told by my body shop that this was happening with alot of the Hyundai sonatas. Also, I have replaced light bulbs blowing monthly in my car and one ha actually burned. I have also found out that several people have had problems with this as well.”
NHTSA complaint #11176313, filed 2019-02, 40,000 miles“Discovered the l/f spring had broken during regular service. Had to have it replaced. Contacted Hyundai asked if there was a possible recall and was told not for my make or model or year, but did discover the 2011's have had numerous problems & a recall has been issued. I feel there should also be a recall for the 2013's since both cars use the same springs.”
NHTSA complaint #11179797, filed 2019-02, 56,274 miles“While parked at the airport for 2 weeks, the right front suspension coil broke. I noticed the problem when I attempted to leave the parking lot and heard a horrendous metal scraping noise. Upon stopping the car and inspecting, I could see the coil spring hanging down. It scraped up the sidewall of the tire in just the short time to drive across the parking lot to where there was more light.”

This warning keeps the engine from starting. Along with this, there are also issues with the steering column and suspension.”
NHTSA complaint #11315573, filed 2020-03, 90,000 miles“On may 15th I was an accident regarding my 2013 Hyundai Sonata the car sways all over the road I have notified the dealer several times and been told there is no fix even though they know about the error the swaying caused an accident that resulted in severe injuries to the passenger. There are numerous complaints about this defect when will something be done about it.”
