“I was doing a 75mph in the state of colorado and suddenly I lost all the power in steering. The brakes were jammed. The steering wheel won't budge. I got rattled in this situation but adrenaline took over and I could slightly swerve the car off the highway and then on the shoulder. I had to use the emergency brakes often, just to slow down the speed and hence to a full stop. The parking brake was my only resort in this incident. I was fortunate to not have met with an accident. It would have been fatal. …”

“When trying to brake as the truck in front of me was braking, my brakes would not work at all. I slammed into the truck at approximately 47 MPH. My airbags did not deploy and my seat belt did not tighten. Nothing worked the way it was supposed to.”

“The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving through a puddle of water, the power steering failed as the battery warning light illuminated. The vehicle was shut off and restarted two hours later, the vehicle resumed normal operation. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis where the contact was informed that the failure was most likely caused by the serpentine belt needing to be replaced or tightened. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 72,000. …”
