“The 'check engine' light came on. The next day as I was turning into our driveway with my foot off of the gas pedal, the car accelerated at full throttle. I immediately shifted into neutral and the engine roared. I then turned it off and restarted it and it was fine then. I took it to the dealer and they replaced a temperature sensor for the transmission. I have had no incident since then. I could have killed someone with the car lurching like that.”

It takes approximately 15-30 minutes for the car to cool down before starting again. In starting the car again, fuel smell is very strong and the car shakes with black smoke coming from the exhaust/tail pipe. The dealer was able to duplicate. In addition,when feet is on brakes, the transmission revel up as if the car is going to take off. This happens when applying the brakes and coming to a stop. The dealer has duplicated the cranking problem. …”
