Example complaints

Air bags: “I received a recall notice in october indicating that my vehicle is not safe and there is the possibility of metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death. My families life and safety is in jeopardy. My vehicle is my primary mode of transportation and used for transportation to/from work and to transport my family. I have been patient, not allowing passengers in my front seat for months. It is now the end of february, over five months have passed and nothing has been done to correct the life threatening defect in my car. This is not acceptable! …”

Engine: “I bought the vehicle from the owner and it drove fine til recently I was at a light and it started to want to turn off and did I could not get it to start again stuck at a light for another 5 mins of trying to turn it on. It has continue to do so as im driving while coming to a stop and all lights turn on and stalls again til it dies.”

NHTSA complaint #11326896, filed 2020-06, 150,000 miles

Seats: “The driver side front seat mechanism has failed in my vehicle. This vehicle is equipped with six-way power adjustable seats. As I was driving the vehicle, the seat suddenly drop to the lowest position on the floor and will no longer raise or lower. As well, the seat now seats not to be properly anchored to the floor of the car. The right side of the seat belt is attached to the bottom of the seat rail and when I stop or put any tension on the seatbelt, I can feel the seat moving about. …”

NHTSA complaint #10404248, filed 2011-06, 66,000 miles

Steering: “I purchased a 2007 Infiniti M45 sport and feel that I have an incredibly dangerous safety issue due to the steering and/or wheels and tires. The problem, known as tramlining , is that on slightly uneven or lightly damaged roads the car's steering decides to aggressively follow a path that it chooses itself and if the driver has the slightest lapse in attention, the car will abruptly veer completely into a different lane or off the road. White-knuckled driving has become all too familiar to me as a result. My vehicle has not been altered in any way. …”
