“Two seat belt buckles in the back seat are broken. There should be two red plastic guides that guide the latch plate into the buckle and one guide is missing on both outer seating positions in the back seat. I can send pictures if needed. My daughter has the same vehicle and it has the same problem. I will be reporting hers under her VIN number.”
NHTSA complaint #11010688, filed 2017-07, 96,000 miles“The 3rd row seatbelts click as if they're latching and do not lock. This allows them to pop out when unexpected and would be dangerous in an accident. This 3row pretty much fits children who may not recognize the problem. I paid to replace mine and within 4 months the new ones I bought from dealer broke. It appears the faulty design of the folding seat is one thing that breaks the seatbelts latches. Several people have this problem and just sell the vehicle to some unsuspecting person. Below I put roughly the date I found it, but had bought the vehicle and it was already broken. …”
NHTSA complaint #11316812, filed 2020-03, 153,000 miles“The 3rd row seat belt do not retract when the seats are being folded down which causes the seat belts to become jammed and tearing the seats, also when fixed, the seat belt will become locked in place causing a person to become stuck in the seatbelt, a very serious problem in case of an accident, this person would not be able to get out of his/her seat. This is a defect from Jeep and should be fixed at jeeps expense. Jeep customer service told me that they had no previous complaints, but I found out that there are several complaints about the seat belts.”
NHTSA complaint #10534331, filed 2013-08, 68,415 miles“Car stalls when driving down the road. The drnp dash lights all light up at the same time and the car shuts down for a couple seconds, then it resumes. It has happened several times randomly in the past. Today, it stalled 3 times on the highway on my home from work. I had to pull over and restart the car. The check engine light finally came on today. The seatbelts also have broken several times. I've replaced 2 separate seatbelt cases (the outer cover) in the past year. The middle, second row seatbelt is locked up and currently unusable. …”
NHTSA complaint #10484066, filed 2012-11, 60,000 miles“Air bag came on and doesn't go off, engine light is on constantly even after vehicle is repaired. Vehicle shuts off while you are driving. Seat belts are broken woke stay after being repaired. Windows get stck.”
