“Bought the car 5 months ago. I started my car to go to work, everything started on except the car. Took out the key and try to turn it back on, nothing. Later on the day, my husband turn the car on and it came back on. The next day, the car wouldn't start, but again the radio, the lights, windshield wipers are on, except the car.”

“My service park assist light has been illuminating on and off for years. It will stall out of no where and nothing works. Today I was going up a hill and the same thing happened. I was told by the dealer it is my electronic shift module. They also told me that this is very common, almost all of these jeeps have to have this repaired.”

NHTSA complaint #10660254, filed 2014-11, 50,000 miles

“The engine warning light was been on and off for the last 2 years. We have changed-out o2 sensors and other fixes but the problem persisted. The issue was discovered by the local Jeep dealership: four of the bolts attaching the manifold onto the hemi 5.7l engine of our Commander were broken. The bolts and exhaust manifold gasket are being replaced - $642 cost.”

NHTSA complaint #10514139, filed 2013-05, 102,400 miles

“Driving at 70 MPH on tollway and vehicle stalled and steering wheel column locked up. This happened two days ago and is occurring more often. It is extremely dangerous because the steering wheel column locks as you are driving. It has happened four more times. I now do not want to drive the vehicle because I fear for the safety of myself and my daughter.”
