Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Shortly after I purchased the vehicle, as I was driving, the car would loose all ability to accelerate. It was like the car would drop into neutral for no apparent reason. The only way to correct this was to pull over and restart the car. I contacted the dealership, but was told they couldn't do anything about it unless the issue was occurring while in the service department. Since this issue could potentially create injury to me and cars behind me, I continued to alert the dealership service department on each event. …”

NHTSA complaint #10454213, filed 2012-04, 1,000 miles

“Engine fire began while driving vehicle. Began as smoke escaping from under hood. Stopped and turned off engine immediately within 20 seconds/100 feet. Fire began in engine compartment within 2 minutes. Total loss of vehicle. Vehicle is a 2010 model, four months old, less than 5000 miles. Dealer denies any responsibility for product liability.”

NHTSA complaint #10373637, filed 2010-12, 4,500 miles

“See attached letter dated 25 march 2010 ( should read 25 march 2011) briefly summarized: the vehicle engine will speed up to between 4000 and 5000 RPM's for no reason and the only way to get this to stop is to pull over to the side of the road and shut the engine off and restart it. This has happened numerous times and it is only a matter of time before someone is killed.”
