“Tipm or front control module shutting off car while driving, turning off airbags and not letting ABS system function properly. The engine has shut down several times while I've been driving since I purchased this vehicle recently”
NHTSA complaint #11353868, filed 2020-09, 110,000 miles“While backing up very slowly out of the garage, the transmission jumped from reverse into forward. The gas pedal floored itself and the car accelerated at full speed into the wall of my garage, climbed over the cement foundation, and then the car slammed into the side of my house. My foot was off of the pedals as I was thrown around the inside of the car. The airbags did not go off even though the windshield was shattered. The only reason the car finally stopped was because it had been severely damaged as it drove itself over the cement foundation of the garage. …”
NHTSA complaint #10594300, filed 2014-05, 30,500 miles“Vehicle shifted from neutral and accelerated striking the side of the garage. Parking brakes would not engage, causing significant damage to the vehicle and garage. Air bags did not deploy. I believe this accident was caused by a pending Jeep recall. Nhtsa's # 13v175000.”
NHTSA complaint #10513235, filed 2013-05, 25,000 miles“The air bag light comes on every now and then. It happened in my previous jeep and is happening in my dad's Chrysler Sebring car as well. I seen this problem with the airbag automatic deactivation when the warning light comes on in different vehicles but all from Chrysler motors.”
NHTSA complaint #11526091, filed 2023-06“Airbag light, with dinging sound, comes on multiple times a day, stays on for a few minutes and goes off. Battery is dead every tim I try to start my vehicle. When I shut off ignition, there is a series of loud clicks coming from the lower central instrument panel. The sound lasts for several minutes. It makes the same sound if I change the temperature on the dual climate control. Digital navigation system /radio doesn't work after shutting off vehicle and restarting it.”
