“While traveling north at about 45-50 mph I struck a vehicle crossing the highway broadside as that vehicle crossed from west to east with the front of my Jeep. The vehicle struck had all air bags deployed and none of the air bags in my Jeep deployed. No injuries and I had on my seatbelt. My vehicle has been designated as totaled by State Farm insurance.”
NHTSA complaint #11766885, filed 2026-09“I lease a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that has developed serious and unresolved safety issues. While driving at highway speeds, typically between 70 and 75 mph, the vehicle has repeatedly lost power and begun to decelerate on its own without driver input. When this occurs, I am unable to maintain speed with traffic, creating a dangerous condition and placing myself, my passengers, and other motorists at risk. …”
NHTSA complaint #11706663, filed 2025-12“While parked my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, front passenger seat airbag deployed unexpectedly without any collision or impact. The deployment caused damage to the seat and could be a serious safety risk. I later learned there is a recall for similar models due to improperly secured side airbag connectors, but my VIN is not currently included. I believe my vehicle may have the same defect and request immediate inspection and repair at no cost, as this is a safety-critical failure.”
NHTSA complaint #11680979, filed 2025-08“Front passenger head restraint deployed without any accident or reason. Just deployed without cause snapping a plastic bracket so it can’t be manually pushed back into place you have to purchase the entire component. The other oddity is the piece that you need to replace in question has been discontinued. Stellantis has a recall referenced as (20c) but my particular vehicle doesn’t fit in there timeline for that recall. I have a child and it is a head restraint that deployed is an airbag, which is extremely dangerous for anybody that could’ve been sitting in that spot or behind the seat. …”
NHTSA complaint #11724577, filed 2026-03“The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after entering the vehicle and attempting to buckle the driver’s seat belt, the headrest suddenly detached, causing the brackets to strike the contact on the head. The contact sustained a sore neck. Medical attention was not needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with SRS failure. The contact was informed that the SRS needed to be repaired. The repair was not covered under warranty or a recall. The vehicle was not repaired. …”
