“My Jeep has stalled and lost power, putting me in dangerous situations. My Jeep has the same 3l diesel engine which has already been recalled in NHTSA for dodge sprinters campaign id number : 07v594000 and all 2007 mercedes diesels. Nhtsa campaign id number : 08v006000. I have previously filed complaints. Please recall the diesel jeeps too!! Updated 10/08/0.”

NHTSA complaint #10219791, filed 2008-03, 32,134 miles

“While driving the vehicle it started to accelerate and while stepping on the brake the vehicle went faster. I turned the key and the engine stopped and I went to the side of the road. I looked up a recall for this problem and there was a k 11 recall. When I contacted Jeep they said my VIN number was not part of the recall. Well I think there is a problem and they should investigate to extend their recall to include this and other vehicles. I will bring the vehicle to a Jeep dealer.”

NHTSA complaint #10568169, filed 2014-03, 55,000 miles

“Whilst driving my Jeep Grand Cherokee (equipped with the mercedes benz common rail diesel (crd) 3.0 l engine) on I-410 at highway speed, the engine suddenly stopped, without any warning. This also made the power brakes and power steering inoperative. Today, the dealer tells me that this is caused by a faulty crankshaft position indicator sensor and is a fairly common occurrence. I should think this is a design flaw and should be corrected by the mfg.”

NHTSA complaint #10386716, filed 2011-03, 41,000 miles

“Engine stalled while driving, and then would not restart. Fortunately I was going slowly approaching a traffic light or the stall could have lead to a collision. My 11 month old son was with me, and then we were stuck blocking traffic at one of the busiest intersections in town. I have heard this is a problem with my vehicle, the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee crd. We could have been killed had this happened on the highway.”

NHTSA complaint #10220203, filed 2008-03, 2,000 miles

“Vehicle stalled just as I was getting ready to pull out into traffic on 9/11/07 at about 3,300 miles. I could have been hit by oncoming traffic if it had stalled a few moments later. It stalled again 11/5/07 at about 10,000 miles after I pulled into a parking place at work.”
