“Have received a notification (several months back) that there is a recall on the fuel tank. Impact explosion risk. Every time we call the local dealers--we have tried several--none of them have a resolution, or they say they don't have the parts. When is this going to be addressed?”

NHTSA complaint #10622209, filed 2014-08, 47,000 miles

“Intermittent stalling issue. Initially the vehicle starts and runs fine. After stopping or extended driving duration the vehicle will random start stalling and check engine light flashes and dings. This will last for a few minutes sometimes and other times the entire trip. The last few times this has happened we were nearly rear ended and pulled over until it was somewhat drive able. I am terrified to drive it at this time for fear it will cause an accident. This has been an ongoing issue for a few years and has recently gotten worse. …”

NHTSA complaint #11124094, filed 2018-09, 70,000 miles

“I bought my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland in june of 2011 with 52095 miles on it. In march of 2012, I experienced the first of many stalls happen to the Jeep with 60,980 miles on it. It has random, unpredictable stall outs that happened through out the year. It seems to stall when accelerating however not all the time. It's stalled while driving on the highway (mass pike or rt. 9) and on side roads. I have not observed any precursors to the stalling. …”

NHTSA complaint #10493108, filed 2013-01, 60,980 miles

“While driving the vehicle it started to accelerate and while stepping on the brake the vehicle went faster. I turned the key and the engine stopped and I went to the side of the road. I looked up a recall for this problem and there was a k 11 recall. When I contacted Jeep they said my VIN number was not part of the recall. Well I think there is a problem and they should investigate to extend their recall to include this and other vehicles. I will bring the vehicle to a Jeep dealer.”

NHTSA complaint #10568169, filed 2014-03, 55,000 miles

“Been having starting issues for at least 6 months. It starts sometimes and other times have to wait a few hours to a few days. The last 2 days won't start at all and has drained my less then a year old battery. 3 weeks ago windows will roll down or up whenever they want. Doors lock and unlock at random. I believed my car is possessed. Reading more and more I realized my tipm is bad. I have learned with all the random things with this Jeep that I will never buy one again. It is a very dangerous car and too many issues, with no resolution other then I have to empty every pocket to fix it. …”
