“Being that recall number: n45 was (and is) incomplete,ie, there are no parts /oem trailer hitch available at local dealers; I purchased and had installed one. Shortly thereafter, I submitted receipt and proof of purchase for reimbursement. This has been to no avail. Its questionable if there are sincere concerns about the safety recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10648304, filed 2014-10, 222,000 miles

“I received a safety recall notice from chrysler concerning gas tank problems. I scheduled an appointment and took the car to the dealer. They were to install a trailer hitch to correct the problem. They called and said they could not do the work because the bumper was not in line as it apparently been hit. I was told needed to pay to fix this before they would do the work. The car is 19 years old and chrysler allowed us to drive it without us knowing about the existing defect. …”

NHTSA complaint #10643727, filed 2014-10, 142,610 miles

“Engine shudders and stalls while I'm driving down the road. This has happened several times. Have to try to pull over out of traffic. It usually starts back after a few minutes of turning engine over. It may run a few miles and then same thing happens again. I have had several close calls with getting hit from behind. Also, steering shuts down. Hard to maneuver out of traffic. Have had it checked with diagnostics. Nothing shows up. Has fuel filter changed anyway, did not help. Had battery, alternator checked, show good. …”

NHTSA complaint #10513225, filed 2013-05, 220,000 miles

“I received a safety recall notice # n45/NHTSA 13v-252. This notice explains that the fuel tank on my vehicle has a chance of experiencing a fuel leak during certain types of rear end collisions. Chrysler is supposed to inspect my vehicle and install an original equipment manufacturer (oem) trailer hitch where appropriate, free of charge ( parts and labor ). My car does not have a trailer hitch so this needs to be done. I have called the local chrysler dealer in my area - rockland chrysler Jeep on route 304 in nanuet, new york 10954 - several times. …”

NHTSA complaint #10627802, filed 2014-08, 162,000 miles

“My vehicle stalls when it is hot outside. I have had the coil replaced then I had the catalytic converter replaced and o2 sensor and it still stalled on start up. I took it to the dealership and it stalled and they told me it was my fuel pump. I spent 965 on a fuel pump I didn't need because it is still stalling and they have no clue why. I seen this problem on mean forums. I think the dealer should be aware of this problem and should know how to fix them not make someone spend a thousand dollars on a might.”
