Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Engine stalls no matter what speed I'm going. Happens more often when coming to a stop. It's as if I just turn the key off. When it stalls, I stop and put it in park, turn the key off and start it right back up and take off. It's becoming a dangerous safety concern.”

NHTSA complaint #11279082, filed 2019-11, 120,000 miles

“I would be driving and randomly it did hard shifts then it just stopped. The vehicle would be driving and loose speed and not go over 30 MPH. The RPM are at 2500 at 30 MPH and I can push the pedal to the floor and it goes no faster”

NHTSA complaint #11222382, filed 2019-06, 132,000 miles

“The first incident happened when my Jeep Grand Cherokee unknowingly shifted into neutral while driving down my neighborhood road. I was not aware of this until I tried to increase my speed and was not able to. I then had to turn off the car and turn it back on. This has happened three times since 2011.”

NHTSA complaint #10511857, filed 2013-05, 20,000 miles

“Car will decelerate, and will not respond to depressing of the accelerator pedal. Occurs at various speeds and traffic conditions. Contacted dealership, began to describe issue, without describing the make and model, and the repair-shop was able to then tell me the make and model of my vehicle without me previously disclosing. …”

NHTSA complaint #10364249, filed 2010-11, 38,000 miles

“This is a continuing issue. The speed will suddenly decrease to 30 miles per hour without any action on drivers part. This is dangerous, especially on busy roads. We were told it was the front control module but after reading reviews it doesn't solve the problem. Chrysler should be held responsible to identify the problem, then issue a recall. They are not interested in doing anything. We bailed them out?”
