“Driving at a speed of 60mph - all my instrument panel lights started flashing, the car loss all power and turned itself off. I was able to muscle car to shoulder. Put back in park and 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee drove the rest of the trip (10 miles) with no other issues. Very dangerous situation! Thankful there was not much traffic when this occurred.”

NHTSA complaint #11315345, filed 2020-02, 150,000 miles

“While driving and speeding up to switch lanes, the accelerator pedal was floored alone and the car took off speeding. I attempted to tap on the accelerator pedal but that did not work so I then pumped the brakes a few times before it slowed down. I was driving about 25 MPH before attempting to switch lanes and when the pedal got stuck the speed went up to 60 MPH.”

NHTSA complaint #10807383, filed 2015-11, 1 miles

“Incident happened multiple times. Engine, shut down briefly. When I stepped on brake it vibrated severely. The instrument panel lit up, was unable to steer. Received notice from NHTSA tried to have fixed several timesand part is still unavailable. It is happening more often and I am afraid to drive it. Very disappointed. I believe Jeep should furnish me with a safe vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10689760, filed 2015-02, 49,000 miles

“My car accelerates after releasing the brake and sometimes it switches into neutral and I'm unable to accelerate. This happens when im driving straight or making a turn. My car also shuts completely off while im in the middle of driving. The lights flash on the dashboard and then they all come back on”

NHTSA complaint #10779236, filed 2015-10, 189,000 miles

“I just recently purchased this 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 hemi with approx. 118,000 miles. Driving about 10mph in a parking lot, I stepped on the brake for a stop sign. When I went to go I got across the intersection then the vehicle engine revved up and I lost all propulsion power. I had roll to a stop, turn the vehicle off and then start up again to get things working correctly while in drive. It has happened again 2 other times at various speeds. Very dangerous when you lose your propulsion.”
