Example complaints

Electrical system: “This issue has happened three times. I am on the highway going 70mph, the RPMs fluctuate, the headlights go out and then I lose propulsion/unable to maintain or increase speed. This is a safety concern as it has happened 3 times on the highway with no warning and limited time to pull over to safety. The dealership is unable to replicate the problem or diagnose an issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11740480, filed 2026-05

Engine: “Vehicle was driven for 5 minutes before alerting that it was overheating. While attempting to pull into a safe location off of a main road, the vehicle would not allow me to accelerate. This left our family stranded in the turn lane. I was unable to restart the engine or shift into drive.”

NHTSA complaint #11736489, filed 2026-05

Other or unknown: “Both battery continue to drain. The dealer has replace the batteries five times. My car has been at the dealer repeatedly. Most recent incident the vehicle has been with the dealer since April 10, 2026. As of today June 1, 2026 it still remains at the dealer. They have not been able to tell the cause of the drain. It also my understanding there us another grand wagoneer at the dealer with the same issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11741221, filed 2026-06

Brakes: “Late last year I reported that while towing a trailer, the dash indicated that the trailer had disconnected from the trailer as looking back I noticed the lights were off when the vehicle lights were on. Before I could pull over to check the connection, the lights turned back on and the warning light extinguished. This happened 3 times when towing the trailer that day. The dealership reprogrammed the module and said it was good. But after the latest recall for the Wagoneer, having it recalled, I wanted to notify someone about the potential for expanding the vehicles included in the recall.”
