“My vehicle is starting to show symptoms of the tipm failing. My doors are unlocking by themselves, and sometimes they won't lock. It has been doing this now for about 1 month. It left me stranded twice now with a dead battery. It all start with the ding and the security light coming on and off.”

NHTSA complaint #11010085, filed 2017-07, 130,000 miles

“We own a 2008 Jeep wrangler sahara, noticed a crack at top of windshield when getting into the vehicle. We have been having subzero temps, also there are no signs of anything that may have hit the windshield (ex. Rock, etc). After checking it, my first thought was that it looked like a stress crack, because of the location and way the crack looked, it was about 3 long and vertical, and of course its now spreading. After checking online, there are a lot of reviews with the same problem on jeeps. …”

NHTSA complaint #10568316, filed 2014-03, 44,000 miles

“When the vehicle is on an incline (front of the vehicle facing up the hill), the rear lift gate has a tendency to open on its own. This happened to me; as soon as I opened the bottom portion of the tailgate (which keeps the upper portion closed), the top section immediately opened, striking me on the bridge of my nose. This force of the impact almost knocked me to the ground, left me disoriented, cut and bleeding.”

NHTSA complaint #10224373, filed 2008-04, 5,500 miles

“I was on 75 south bound going 70 MPH. I had just gotten on the interstate from the bruce b downs entrance. After the right lane ended I switched to the middle lane. Coming up to fletcher exit, the gears changed. Almost like the car gave out. I looked down, I didn't change anything. On my way to look back up I see smoke from the hood and smoke through the rare view mirror. Grey smoke in the front and black in the back. I looked down at the gages and it was over heating. Looked to my left, no cars, pulled over to the left emergency lane. …”

NHTSA complaint #10734888, filed 2015-07, 57,000 miles

“My 2008 Jeep wrangler unlimited x 4dr, has major water leaking issues. I got this Jeep used with 17,560miles on it. It runs great. However every time it rains, it leaks. My driver side seatbelt gets so wet that you can wring it out. The floor underneath the backseat gets soaked. I had to use a shampooer in the Jeep because I couldn't soak up all the water from the carpet, and it smelled like mildew. I pulled up the carpet to be sure that the plugs are in correctly, which they are, and noticed what looked like rust. …”
