NHTSA complaint #11219397, filed 2019-06, 115,000 miles“When starting vehicle, engine revs up & won't stop until vehicle is turned off. This happens intermittently & has continued to be a problem for the last 3 years. I have reported this problem several times to my Kia dealership where all regular maintenance has been serviced since I purchased this vehicle in 2010. They state they have noted this problem but since it doesn't happen all the time, nothing has been done.”
NHTSA complaint #10711816, filed 2015-04, 33,716 miles“Car makes loud roaring sound upon cold start. It is typically the loudest when it has been left sitting all night and at first start. It will not make the noise after that unless it sits for at least 8hrs.I took it to Kia and they explained it wouldn't damage my car and it's mostly just a loud noise and annoyance. They also explained they had seen this before and one of the mechanics even said he drove his Kia around for years and it made the same noise. It is loud.”
