“Drivers door will not open through outside have to climb through passenger door.this could be definitely a safety issue with my well being as I could be pulled from car while attempting to enter..I am almost 60 and this is very hard on me to climb from passenger side to drivers side especially in the rain or dark parking lot with all the crime going on these days.”

While going about 55mph down a rural road I seen a flash on the road that seemed to come from the front left tire and realized my Kia had caught fire. I pulled to the side of the road and immediately ran to the nearest house for help. It was only a matter of seconds and my whole vehicle was on fire.”

Went to forum on internet about this issue. Thousands of Kia Sorento 2011 owners has same issue with the door. If we go to Kia, they charge $400 for one door lock! Crazy! So many Kia owners don,t want a Kia anymore. Me either”

This also happened to the rear door and I needed a door latch kit and also on the front door latch kit had to be replaced. The safety or it is not safe when you cannot open your car door from inside the car.”
NHTSA complaint #11414192, filed 2021-04, 122,000 miles“Driver side door will not open from the out side. The doors are unlocked and the only way to open the door is from the inside of the car. This is a hazard and a safety issue. I have read on many blogs with other Kia Sorento owner having the same issue. I have a baby, and having to open my driver door from the passenger side crawling through the car.”
