“While driving at highway speeds vehicle stalled out and quit without warning in the middle of traffic due to fuel pump failure. Also, transmission slippage, cruise control switch failed prior to recall, recall repairs performed, and sporadic miss in engine due to wires shorting out/ replaced wires.”
NHTSA complaint #848976, filed 1999-11“Electrical wiring/fuses failed, causing power mirrors/ warning light, door alarm/tail lights/dash lights/radio to malfunction. In addition, transmission jumped in/out of gears, and cruise control would not, at times, release with the application of the brakes. Also, premature wear of front brake pads. Finally, when vehicle reaches a certain speed, usually between 60-70 MPH, there is a strong whistling sound that permeates the entire vehicle.”
