Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“At 5 years my front heated seats stopped working and the drivers seat ripped across where I thought there was a seam. After researching other 2010 E350's with mb tech seats, they all appear to have the same problems. I have contacted mbusa many times in the past 3 years and have received no answer or solution. If you also look at ads of these vehicles for sale by owner, you will see the same issue. The only people who drive this car are; me and I'm 135lbs and my mother 93lbs, so we are not over weight and putting extra stress on the seats. …”

NHTSA complaint #11083156, filed 2018-04, 87,000 miles

“Seats torn in seam for a while . Started with a small crack and eventually grew over years . Mercedes needs to do better , this seams to be common with your cars”

NHTSA complaint #11350593, filed 2020-08, 78,000 miles

“The stitch seam of the mb texture of the driver's seat spontaneously burst upon my entering and sitting in the vehicle. The driver's door lock freezes and has not been operable via the key remote since then.”

NHTSA complaint #10731629, filed 2015-07, 18,000 miles

“A pint of orange juice spilled on the floor of the passenger side back seat. It was cleaned up, but apparently some of the juice was able to eventually make its way into the unprotected electrical connector located under the passenger seat floor well. This caused an electrical short. Actual burn marks in the wiring near the harness connector are clearly visible. Fortunately, there was no fire, and the only indication of a problem was that the air bag service light eventually came on.”
