“Well for starters its throwing a code saying that I have a small fuel leak some where and the 2 is one day I had a flat and after I changed the tire the power steering went out and not only that but the car has a heavy vibration in it and while driving it want to take off either left or right which ended up with me running off the road twice already”
NHTSA complaint #11099386, filed 2018-06, 166,000 miles“While driving, the car loses power. It is dangerously crippled as it has to be stopped completely and put in the park position before it will restart. When restarting if I take my hand off the key it will continue to try and start the engine until it starts. The check engine light either comes on and goes off or fails to come on..”
NHTSA complaint #10522726, filed 2013-07, 44,000 miles“I was driving on the interstate at 72 miles per hour in my 2010 Mercury Milan when the car lost all power. I was able to coast to the shoulder without interfering with other traffic. It was very frightening and I was very fortunate that traffic was not close and I was able to maneuver off the road safely. Since this first episode my Mercury Milan has done this another 3 times.”
NHTSA complaint #10542051, filed 2013-09, 68,500 miles“Driving down the car stalled and sputtered pulled over and it restarted fine drink half mile and did it again almost go hit by a car this tim I happen 5 months ago and I was almost rear ended was told my ford dealership that is the throttle body ford issued a extended warranty but will not replace it unless the car fails which I think is bs if my family is hurt I'll be filing suit against ford and the dealership.”
NHTSA complaint #10745558, filed 2015-08, 75,000 miles“Sudden loss of acceleration or ability to drive. Immediate display of icon showing mechanical problem. Towed to dealer, where throttle body failure was diagnosed. This incident occurred on a treacherous stretch of I-40 entering north carolina, where shoulder is very narrow, and we barely escaped injury and/or death.”
