“Third time taking my car in, cause the check engine light & wrench light comes on. Keep getting code po455, po457 and now p2119. I just went in less then 3 mths ago and had the throttle body PCM calibration update, bam starting again. It is very scary to go down the road and lose power or while driving give it gas & it jerks. 2010 Milan”
NHTSA complaint #10782575, filed 2015-10, 77,000 miles“When driving at high speeds on the freeway there is a jerk in the car, the triangle warning light comes on that says pull over when safe, the engine shuts off, and we can no longer accelerate. We pull over, turn off the car, and then turn it back on.”
NHTSA complaint #11324675, filed 2020-05, 104,000 miles“I was driving on a local road. Suddenly the car lost power and the wrench light was on. It could only go very slowly before I parked it on the roadside. I waited for several minutes and started the engine, then everything seemed just fine and the wrench light went off. After the trip I tried to connect obdii code reader but cannot get any error code.”
NHTSA complaint #10547466, filed 2013-10, 40,323 miles“I was pulling away from a stop sign when the car engine seemed to stall out. It was surging a bit, but would not accelerate. I was able to pull over to the curb, but could continue to feel the engine surge as I was stopping. I turned off the car and the problem seemed to resolve. I was able to drive home normally after turning off and restarting the car.”
NHTSA complaint #10551755, filed 2013-11, 42,040 miles“While accelerating, the car began to jerk violently and came to a stop, and shut off. The car was unable to run or idle. It was towed to a ford dealership where they diagnosed a failed throttle body and it was replaced. I was on a residential road so no injuries, had I been on the highway, things would have been different.”
