“Vehicle has 45,874 miles on it today. Sunroof is not working so I had local ford dealer check out the problem. Service tech reports found chunks of brackets laying in the track assembly. Rec replacing sunroof track. Track is not secured properly with the glass due to the damage in the track assembly. May not be safe to drive. There is also the possibility of track leaking water. The problem occurred during normal operation and if there is a safety concern as the ford technician stated, then I feel ford should cover the cost of the repair. …”
NHTSA complaint #11124628, filed 2018-09, 45,874 miles“The taillights never changed illumination, when the headlights where on. When the headlights were not on they illuminated according to brake petal pressing. Was driving at night with headlights on nd was rear ended due to the other driver knowing I was stopping. The other driver was hurt along with her passenger. Next morning to vehicle in to dealership was told it needed a headlight control switch and an rear tail light assemblies. Not bulbs but assembled as these are LED. 435$ for each taillight and 50 for control switch.”
NHTSA complaint #10622362, filed 2014-08, 81,000 miles“After only 24,600 miles, the sun roof worked one day and the next day when the button was activated the sunroof began to lower the rear of the window but wounld open no further. Upon multiple tries, the raising and lowering of the rear part of the window is all it would do. When taken ot blloomington lincoln, (mn) they informed me that the motor and entire track system would need replacing. They took pictures to send to ford to see if they would honor the warranty. Gee. The vehicle is still under the 3 yr, 36000 limit. Should have been a no brainer.”

The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and the contact was advised to call the NHTSA Hotline. The contact was provided a case number.
