“As I was parking the parking sensors didn’t engage to say I was too close to another vehicle causing me to side swipe the other vehicle! I thought it was just me but still 4 days later anytime I park the sensors don’t alert me as being too close! The forward and reverse emergency brake system is not engaging as it used to do!”

NHTSA complaint #11588588, filed 2024-05

“For the past 3 winters since I had this vehicle when it is cold outside the vehicle starts hard or will not start at all requiring a jump. It will not shift gears, or accelerate. The battery light comes on after the vehicle is running. I have called the local dealership and was told this happens when it is cold. I was told to bring the car in and let it sit there when it's cold so they can try and re create the problems they stated the battery is fine. As of today the vehicle started to leak oil after it started hard. …”

NHTSA complaint #11637299, filed 2025-01

“While driving down the highway at 70 mph, my 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander SEL suddenly shut off without warning, causing the entire dashboard and instrument cluster to go dark. In a matter of seconds, the vehicle unexpectedly braked on its own, decelerating from 70 to 0 mph in an extremely short distance. This abrupt stop nearly caused an 18-wheeler behind me to rear-end my vehicle. Thankfully, the truck driver was able to swerve just in time, narrowly avoiding a catastrophic collision. The situation could have resulted in severe injuries or fatalities. …”

NHTSA complaint #11535663, filed 2023-08, 30,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the brake warning light illuminated intermittently. After depressing the accelerator pedal, the warning light turned off. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with the front passenger’s side caliper, and the copper washer needing to be replaced. The contact stated that brake fluid was also added. The vehicle was repaired but experienced failure a second time. …”
