Example complaints

Brakes: “noticed a small oil puddle near the front passenger side of the car in the garage before leaving for work on 2/24/24 at approximately 530am. Checked all reservoirs and found nothing outstanding and left for work. At approximately 540am I was driving to work and noticed 2 deer avoided one and hit the second one while still attempting to stop. I slammed my brakes, had no abs kick on, and the pedal went to the floor and I still narrowly clipped the second deer. I was attempting to brake for at least 20ft before the collision happened with the deer and slowed down from 80 to 65mph. …”

NHTSA complaint #11576110, filed 2024-03

Other or unknown: “My car is currently in the dealership due to excessive water damage after a rainstorm this month. I noticed the issue when I opened the door and the car smelled of mildew. When I inspected the vehicle, there was a large puddle in the spare tire compartment and the carpets in the back of the car and back passenger areas are soaked. The padding under the spare tire was soaked. I noticed water coming out of the seatbelt area and back vents. …”

NHTSA complaint #11760770, filed 2026-08

Exterior lighting: “The driver's-side front headlight assembly (a sealed LED unit) failed. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. It started with moisture intrusion; I took it to the Dealer. They said I had to replace it out of pocket. I explained this was an apparent manufacturer failure. Since I got the car back, it flickered until it went out, and the dashboard displays a Headlight Failure error. The failed headlight significantly reduces forward visibility at night and my vehicle's visibility to other drivers. …”
