“The backup camera is freezing at random when I am backing up causing me to have to stop and put the vehicle in park and turn the vehicle off and back on to reset the backup camera to get it to unfreeze to get it to fully work again. Otherwise it remains frozen even when I put the vehicle in drive and drive to a new and leave the vehicle running and stop and backup the backup camera is still frozen not until I turn the vehicle off does the backup become unfrozen. This is a random happening, and does not happen all the time and I can not predict when it will occur the next time. …”
NHTSA complaint #11328565, filed 2020-06, 18,856 miles“I have noticed an issue with the rear view camera. When you first shift into reverse, it goes on. But as you begin to back up, for a second or two the picture freezes, although the car is still backing up; then it resumes regular operation. This is very dangerous, because if an object or person is present, the driver may be relying on the camera, and the car could strike the object or person, although the camera would not indicate he is about to do so, since the picture is frozen. I believe it is an issue with the software, not particular to my particular car. …”
