“The drivers side seat belt buckle became unfastened while driving. There was a recall for this problem ( recall no.#97v148000 seat belt system ) but the vehicle identification number was not apart of the recall. The manufacturer was aware of the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10055749, filed 2004-06, 160,000 miles

“The drivers side seat belt would not pull out or retract from the mechanism. I took the van in for replacement and was charged $178 to replace the seatbelt assembly. I think this is wrong for me to pay for a safety related device. I have already paid the bill but want to know if it is possible to get a refund from chrysler?”

NHTSA complaint #721797, filed 2000-04

“Seat belt on both sides in front hangs up: the retractor won't work. I am scared to hell. Dealer said buy new one. I had a repair shop service it: same problem again. I had another Plymouth dealer work with the belt and he got it to release, but problem reoccurred.”

NHTSA complaint #722432, filed 2000-05

“The contact owns a 1993 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The contact stated that the liftgate hinge was not operating correctly. The liftgate closed without assistance. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and repaired. Also, the ABS warning light illuminated intermittently on the instrument panel. The contact applied pressure to the brake pedal and experienced difficulty slowing down. There was also a malfunction with the seat belt assembly buckle. Recently, while driving approximately 65 MPH in the rain, the windshield wipers stopped working without warning. …”

NHTSA complaint #10240646, filed 2008-09, 142,000 miles

“Air conditioner quit working, problem is evaporator under dash. Repair to be $1200 estimated. Fuel pump failed. Paint began peeling at 40,000 miles. Just finished repainting whole vehicle at own expense. Both front seatbelts would not unroll and were replaced. Transmission failed at 68,000 miles, dealer repaired at no charge. Abs no longer works. Wheels lock up when hard braking.”
