“Clock sping is a wire harness located in the steering column that controls the driver side air bag, horn & cruise contol . When damaged from no fault on part of the driver the horn will not work the air bag will not deploy when needed or might deploy without any impact . I feel that this is a safty defect that should be repaired by the manufacturer at no cost to the consumer.”
NHTSA complaint #753371, filed 2001-10“Traveling about 40-50mph with cruise control on. Stepped on accelerator & nothing happened. Could hear the engine running. Vehicle started to slow down. Coasted to side of road. Had it towed. Was informed the transmission failed. This is the third (3) time this has happened. Chrysler paid for the first 2, but not for the 3rd one.”
NHTSA complaint #823598, filed 1998-05“Transmission blew out when going up on a ramp off the freeway at 50mph (18 nov 96). Taken vehicle to transmission shop for repairs. The 2nd time, had foot on pedal & vehicle did not go, then it suddenly accelerated.”
NHTSA complaint #834055, filed 1999-01“About every 30,000 miles transmission went out. Consumer's wife was petrified entering the beltway as vehicle gradually picked up speed. Transmission has already been replaced.”
