“Our vehicles motor will shut off during rain or when the air conditioner is on. We have brought the vehicle to two dealerships and they can find nothing. Our neighbor has the same year with the same problem. This has created a very hazardous driving experience for my wife.”
NHTSA complaint #743613, filed 2001-04“While driving at various speeds, usually during times of deceleration engine will stall, causing shut down of all systems. This has occurred on the highway as well as during city driving. I have taken it to the dealer and all they tell me is it must do it while their monitoring it to troubleshoot it.”
NHTSA complaint #702989, filed 1999-02“You name it, it has broken. The rear wiper motor quit in the middle of use. When it rains and I turn right, the whole van just stops. Right now, can't turn right without constant noise and jerking. Have had the front axle replaced 4 times. Something keeps tearing it up. I was told motor mounts, but that is expensive to replace. I was also told the engine, the transmssion, the wheels. I get different stories from each person. Can't contact Plymouth manufacturer. Car stalls between gears then jerks into next gear. …”
NHTSA complaint #701981, filed 1999-01“While driving engine stalled, consumer took the vehicle to the dealer. Dealer said the throttle body was the main cause of the problem and so they cleaned it. After one week the engine stalled twice on two separate days while driving and it would not restart so the vehicle had to be towed. Possible engine problems.”
NHTSA complaint #564052, filed 2002-01“While attempting to change lanes in traffic, the steering lost control causing the vehicle to spin 3 times and face oncoming traffic, another time the steering lost control was when the vehicle was cut off by another vehicle , consumer received recall 00v-305, however the dealer stated that the recall had nothing to do with the loss of steering control.”
