“Takata recall for about a month now my vehicle has been randomly dying. I was on the highway when suddenly everything locked up I couldn't stop, couldn't brake, the engine seized and I was unable to restart the car. The steering wheel was moving in both directions by itself, then locked up. I had to get out and push the car into a safe place and was unable to re-start it.”
NHTSA complaint #10825915, filed 2016-02, 140,000 miles“The brake lights on my Pontiac G6 2007 do not function correctly. When driving they stay on, when pressing on the brake they go out. My cruise control does not work either. I have changed the brake light sensor five times and it works for a day or so, and goes out again. I have read that other customers have this problem as well. It is very dangerous.”
NHTSA complaint #10586926, filed 2014-05, 100,000 miles“There was no incident. I'm just smelling gas and my car isn't starting on the first turn like before. As I was doing my research, I came across the recall on the fuel pump. I also received a notice about a recall 13036 brake lamp malfunction as well as 14152 transmission shift cable fracture. I would like to know what action I need to take. I see the gas issue is a big concern.”
NHTSA complaint #10760896, filed 2015-09, 160,000 miles“Had car parked and noticed my brake lights were on. Pressed brake pedal and depressed it and the lights went off only to come back on. Affects my third brake light as well. Happens in the daytime as well as night. Sporadic. Was told my brake lights are on when in motion and turn off when stopped. Worried I might get in an accident or get pulled over.”
NHTSA complaint #10501448, filed 2013-03, 39,670 miles“Someone stopped me in traffic to let me know my brake lights were on even though I was accelerating. The problem persisted through numerous repair and continues to be on during the entire ride. Also, it is really hard sometimes to get the gear out of park and into another selection. I have spent almost 1,000 dollars in repairsbut the problem still exist.”
