“Vehicle fails to move when you depress the accelerator pedal. From a dead stop to pull out into traffic it doesn't move at all for approximately 5 to 10 seconds. It is worse when towing a load. It is also slow to respond when driving at speed. It is extremely dangerous!!!!”
NHTSA complaint #11122727, filed 2018-08, 55,000 miles“The speed control switch operates intermittently. Sometimes it won’t turn on. Sometimes it won’t turn off. I am afraid it may cause me to have and accident.”
NHTSA complaint #11544158, filed 2023-09“The contact owns a 2016 dodge Ram 3500. While driving at an unknown speed, the speedometer failed to display the proper mileage without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,060.”
NHTSA complaint #10840189, filed 2016-03, 1,060 miles“The cruise control switch is very intermittent. It can be difficult to get it to engage. Getting the cruise control to release with the brake or switch is also intermittent. I am very worried that it will cause a crash.”
NHTSA complaint #11551480, filed 2023-10“Dead pedal. From a dead stop if you stab the accelerator pedal as in a emergency situation there is a 2-3 second delay before power is applied to the drivetrain. I feel this is a very dangerous situation and Ram should have to reprogram these trucks to apply power when called for by the accelerator pedal. This has occured since new”
