“We have a 2021 Ram Promaster 1500 Winnebago Pocket Solis. We smelled gasoline while loading up gear for a trip. Upon inspection we saw that gasoline was leaking at the seal of the gas tank. We have taken it to the local Ram dealership that confirmed it is leaking at the cold weld of the gasoline tank. Unfortunately, it is all one piece and the whole tank has to be replaced. $2,400 It is very expensive to replace the whole tank. Our van has only 48k miles on it. It is ridiculous that the tank failed so quickly. …”

“This vehicle is a new Thor motorcoach model 18m with onboard propane system. Within the first 2 weeks of ownership i turned on the propane and immediately a rubber propane hose burst at a bend and started leaking propane. I was able to shut off the supply at the tank and get it in for repair where they replaced the hose. On December 3rd we drove the van 9 hours to Disney and parked for check in. upon return from check in I smelled propane and heard hissing under the van again. The fire department was called to the scene and they found the main fitting on the inlet of the tank leaking. …”

NHTSA complaint #11499663, filed 2023-01

“The fuel tank is leaking where the fuel tube goes into the tank. The seal starts to leak and they do not make a replacement seal, you have to replace the entire fuel tank. This is the 2nd Promaster van that I have had and the 2nd time this has happened. This is dangerous to have fuel leaking from the front of the vehicle. This is a poor design, it’s a very common problem with these vehicles that still hasn’t been addressed. It’s also an expensive problem because the tank costs $1300 without labor, and you just can’t buy the gasket itself you have to buy the whole tank.”
