Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Intermittently, while trying to start the car, the alarm sounds, lights turn on, message says engine disabled and car cannot be started. Has occurred every few months: December 2025, March 2026, July 2026. Subaru company claims there is no problem, however, there is a malfunction that it has refused to try to diagnose. The company claims the car was not driven enough, or maybe the key fob was left in the car, or the phone was too close to the start button, or etc...........I do have a video of one incident but do not know how to upload it.”
