“I’m still driving a time bomb waiting for vehicle fire or accident. Was told first quarter of the year. Now, still no remedy. I purchase car brand new and weeks later received notice. Then I was told Toyota was informed not to sell and I just bought mine. All I’m told is to wait. If engine line comes on pull over and tow. That’s great while I’m driving my family.”

NHTSA complaint #11736823, filed 2026-05

“I bought this Camry and then my insurance notified me there was an open safety recall. When I saw there was a risk of fire, I took it straight to the Toyota dealership where it is now sitting with no remedy for the recall available. This recall started in December 2025 and it is now July 2026. I can’t even drive the new car I bought and am in a loaner from Toyota.”

NHTSA complaint #11750782, filed 2026-07

“The remedy to fix the current recall is taking absurdly long. I have driven a car previously in which there was a sudden loss of power and the risk to myself and other drivers is very dangerous. I just purchased this car in Nov. and the recall was soon after. I am very disappointed in this lack of urgency in finding a remedy. I purchased this car for my teen daughter to drive - what a mark on the safety of Toyotas name. …”

NHTSA complaint #11724907, filed 2026-03

“The manufacturer has no solution to the recall of my vehicle. I cannot drive the vehicle due to a risk of the powertrain shutting down or worse, a fire. It’s been months that I cannot use the vehicle. I think the manufacturer should buy the vehicle back.”

NHTSA complaint #11733093, filed 2026-04

“While driving my 2026 Toyota Camry LE Hybrid at approximately 10 mph in a parking lot, the vehicle accelerated on its own without any input from me. I applied hard braking to bring the vehicle under control. No collision occurred. The specific component or system that failed is UNKNOWN — I suspect the speed control, powertrain, or electrical throttle system, but this has not yet been diagnosed. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. …”
