“My 2007 Toyota Corolla accelerated dangerously three times . I put on brakes with all my might, put it in parked position. No damage to anything, or anyone, but the sudden acceleration was scary. It's not among the recalled models. I removed the Toyota floor mat from the driver's side. I will go back to dealer : I want them to look at the car's computer.”

NHTSA complaint #10317469, filed 2010-03, 29,001 miles

“I just had the floor mat acceleration happen to me in my 2007 Corolla. I was slowing down for a red light, so my foot was on the brake... The car suddenly accelerated so I threw the shift into neutral and I was able to pull the mat out from under the accelerator and my car continued to slide like it was on ice and then came to a stop.”

NHTSA complaint #10297359, filed 2009-12, 33,000 miles

“In march, 2007, I had an accident. The rear end of the car was completely broken. I thought it was totaled. Safeco had it repaired. The trunk does not stay secure, I am continuously taking my vehicle to the body shop for repairs to the body. The body parts just pop in (plastic) and the trunk lid does not stay shut. I am very disappointed, as well as it being very dangerous when I am riding down the road and the trunk's lid flops open, causing blind visibility .”

NHTSA complaint #10250563, filed 2008-12, 200 miles

“A/c stopped working at 42k miles. Bad expansion valve. Part cost around 40 dollars labor 6.5 hours at going shop rate of 80-100 dollars per hour, add the cost of removal of freon and cleaning system brings the bill to $600-$800 dollars. System is no longer under warranty.”

NHTSA complaint #10267521, filed 2009-05, 42,000 miles

“In 2007, I had purchased a Toyota Corolla le. I had not noticed this problem until 2 weeks after purchasing the vehicle. The problem lies with the airbag not flushed with the dashboard and creates dips and valleys. The passenger airbag is sunk into the dashboard. After speaking with the dealer, they replaced the airbag and told me to let it sit for a while and the airbag and dashboard would align. However, after letting it sit for nearly two years, it is still the same condition. …”
